Terms of Service
Last updated: 10 October 2026 · Version 2026-10-10
These Terms govern your use of Cindrus. We have tried to write them in plain language. If anything is unclear, you are always welcome to contact us.
1. About Cindrus
Cindrus is provided by:
- Charlie Ikai
- Trading name: Cindrus
- Address: Deltavej 369, 9000 Aalborg, Denmark
- Email: support@cindrus.com
- Phone: +45 55 24 52 98
- Cindrus does not offer customer service or support by phone, and the address is not a visiting address. It is therefore not possible to come to the address in person to receive customer service or support. All enquiries about support, subscriptions, payments, complaints or other questions must be made in writing to support@cindrus.com.
In these Terms, we refer to ourselves as “Cindrus”, “we”, “us” or “our”. When we refer to “you”, we mean the person using Cindrus.
These Terms apply together with our Privacy Policy and any specific terms shown when you purchase a subscription or use a particular Cindrus service.
2. What Cindrus does
Cindrus is a financial intelligence platform designed to help you understand and monitor your personal finances.
Depending on the features available in your country and subscription, Cindrus may provide tools for things such as:
- mortgages and other loans;
- refinancing calculations;
- assets and liabilities;
- financial calculations and comparisons;
- monitoring of interest rates and other relevant market developments;
- estimated savings and costs;
- financial insights and opportunities;
- notifications when relevant circumstances change; and
- other tools for understanding your financial position.
Cindrus may develop, add, change or remove features over time. Some features may only be available in selected countries or as part of selected subscriptions.
3. Cindrus provides information — not personal financial advice
Cindrus is a software platform.
Unless we explicitly state otherwise, Cindrus does not provide personalised financial, investment, credit, tax or legal advice.
Calculations, comparisons, monitoring, estimates, opportunities and other information provided by Cindrus are intended to help you understand your financial situation and available possibilities.
They are not offers from a bank, mortgage lender or other financial institution and should not be understood as a guarantee that a particular financial product is available to you.
For example, when Cindrus shows “New loans are below your rate” and “The rate on new loans of the same kind was [x] percentage points below the rate on [your loan] in [month].”, this means that our calculations have identified circumstances that may be worth reviewing. It does not mean that Cindrus is recommending that you enter into a particular financial transaction.
You remain responsible for your financial decisions. Where appropriate, you should verify important information with the relevant bank, lender, financial institution or professional adviser before making a significant financial decision.
4. Calculations, estimates and market information
Cindrus calculations may be based on:
- information you provide;
- assumptions shown within Cindrus;
- publicly available information;
- market information;
- information supplied by third parties; and
- other data available to Cindrus.
Interest rates, prices, fees, taxes, lending requirements and other financial conditions can change. Actual products and offers available to you may therefore differ from the calculations or estimates shown by Cindrus.
We aim to make our calculations useful and accurate, but we cannot guarantee that every calculation, data point or estimate will always be complete, current or error-free. Where a figure is an estimate, we aim to make that clear.
5. Your account
You must provide accurate information when creating and using your Cindrus account.
Your account is personal and should not be shared with others. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure.
If you believe someone has gained unauthorised access to your account, please contact us as soon as possible.
You are responsible for the financial information you enter into Cindrus and for keeping it reasonably up to date.
To purchase a paid consumer subscription, you must be at least 18 years old.
6. Free Cindrus
Cindrus has a Free plan alongside the paid subscriptions.
We may change which features are included in the Free plan over time. Where reasonably possible, we will provide notice before making material changes that significantly affect existing users.
Downgrading to Free does not by itself delete financial information already stored in your account. Limits may, however, apply to creating new items or using paid features after a paid subscription ends.
7. Paid subscriptions
Cindrus may offer monthly and annual paid subscriptions. The price, included features and billing period are shown before you subscribe.
All consumer prices are the total prices you pay. Neither VAT nor any other charge is added on top.
A monthly subscription is billed for one month at a time. An annual subscription is billed for one year at a time. Unless you cancel, your subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period.
Free trial. A new subscription can start with a free trial of 14 days. The trial starts on the day the agreement is made. The first payment is taken when the trial ends, and the subscription then continues as a paid subscription until you stop it. There is one free trial per person and per payment card.
Before completing your purchase, we clearly show:
- the subscription you are purchasing;
- the total price;
- the billing period;
- that the subscription renews automatically;
- how you can cancel; and
- any other material conditions applying to your purchase.
8. Payment
Payment is processed through our payment provider. Payment-card details are entered with the payment provider and are not stored on Cindrus' own systems.
You will receive confirmation of your purchase on a durable medium, such as email. Your account will show your current subscription and, where applicable, your next renewal date.
9. Automatic renewal
Monthly subscriptions automatically renew for another month. Annual subscriptions automatically renew for another year. Renewal continues until you cancel your subscription.
The applicable subscription price is charged using your selected payment method at renewal. You can cancel before your next renewal to prevent the next payment.
10. Right of withdrawal and immediate access
As a consumer, you have the statutory rights of withdrawal that apply to your purchase under applicable consumer law.
The right of withdrawal is separate from the free trial. You have a 14-day right of withdrawal from the day the agreement is made. It runs at the same time as any free trial — it does not start when the trial ends. You withdraw with the «Withdraw from agreement» button under Subscription in your account before the deadline. You can also write to support@cindrus.com. The agreement then ends immediately, and you get a receipt by email. If you have asked for Cindrus to be provided straight away and withdraw after a payment has been taken, you pay for the part of the period you have used.
Cindrus is a digital subscription service, and paid functionality is made available immediately after purchase. Where required, during checkout we will therefore ask you to expressly request that delivery of the paid service begins immediately and provide you with the information required by law about the consequences this has for your right of withdrawal.
Your request and any legally required acknowledgement will be recorded and confirmed together with your order confirmation.
The exact legal treatment of the withdrawal right for the Cindrus service, including the wording presented during checkout, will follow applicable Danish consumer law.
Nothing in these Terms limits a statutory right of withdrawal or other mandatory consumer right that cannot legally be waived.
11. Cancellation — simple by design
We do not want to make it difficult to leave Cindrus. You can cancel your subscription at any time. There is no cancellation fee.
You can cancel directly through your Cindrus account or by contacting us. When you cancel, automatic renewal stops.
Your paid subscription remains available until the end of the billing period you have already paid for. If you have paid for one month, you can continue using the paid features until the end of that month; if you have paid for one year, until the end of that annual period.
Afterwards, your account will normally move to the Free plan unless you choose to delete your account.
12. Refunds
Cancelling a subscription does not normally entitle you to a refund for an already-paid billing period. Instead, you retain access to the paid subscription until that period expires.
This does not affect:
- statutory withdrawal rights;
- rights relating to defective digital services;
- refunds required by mandatory consumer law; or
- any refund Cindrus chooses to provide in a particular situation.
If Cindrus terminates a prepaid paid service before the end of your paid period for reasons unrelated to your breach of these Terms, we will provide any refund required by law and, where appropriate, a proportionate refund for the unused period.
13. Failed payments
If a payment fails, we may retry the payment and notify you. If payment cannot be completed, we may suspend paid functionality or move your account to the Free plan.
A failed payment does not by itself cause us to delete your financial information.
14. Changing your subscription
You may be able to upgrade or downgrade your subscription through your account. The price and timing of any change will be shown before you confirm it.
If you downgrade and your account contains more loans, assets, calculations or other items than the new plan supports, we may prevent you from creating additional items until you are within the applicable limit.
We will not delete existing financial information solely because you downgrade your subscription.
15. Price changes
We may change subscription prices from time to time. Price changes do not apply retroactively to a subscription period you have already paid for.
If a price change affects your future renewal, we will provide reasonable advance notice and, where applicable, at least the notice required by law. You can cancel your subscription before the new price applies.
16. Changes to Cindrus
Cindrus will continue to evolve. We may improve, modify, add or remove features and may change how calculations, monitoring or other functionality works. We may also update criteria used to identify financial opportunities as our models, data and products improve.
We will not intentionally materially reduce the core functionality of an already-paid subscription during the prepaid period without reasonable cause. Where a significant change materially disadvantages paying users, we will provide reasonable notice where required.
17. Monitoring and notifications
Some Cindrus features periodically monitor financial information, market information or other relevant conditions. Today, Cindrus checks interest rates once a day, and a notification appears in the bell inside Cindrus. If email about your loans is switched on — it is from the start — we also send an email when the rate on one of your Danish mortgage loans is clearly above the average for new loans, at most once per loan every 30 days. You can switch it off under Settings or directly in the email. The email is included with Basic and above.
Monitoring frequency may vary depending on the feature, data source, market and subscription. Cindrus does not guarantee that monitoring is continuous, real-time or capable of identifying every possible financial opportunity.
A notification from Cindrus indicates that something may be worth reviewing. It is not a guarantee that a particular loan, investment, rate or other financial product is available to you. You should therefore not rely on Cindrus as your only source of information when a financial decision is time-sensitive.
18. Third-party products and services
Cindrus may display information about or link to products and services provided by banks, lenders, brokers or other third parties.
Any financial product you ultimately obtain from a third party is provided under that third party's terms, eligibility requirements and approval process. Cindrus does not control a third party's decision to approve or reject an application.
Where Cindrus receives compensation from a partner in connection with a referral or transaction, we will provide relevant disclosures where required.
19. Sharing information with third parties
We do not share your personal financial information with banks, lenders or other commercial partners merely because you use Cindrus.
If a feature requires us to send your information to a third party — for example, because you ask us to help obtain an offer — we will explain what will be shared and obtain any consent or other legal basis required before doing so.
Our processing of personal data is described in our Privacy Policy.
20. Your data
Your personal data remains your information. Our Privacy Policy explains:
- what personal data we collect;
- why we process it;
- how long we retain it;
- who we share it with;
- how we protect it; and
- your rights.
In Settings you can export your data and delete your account.
Deleting your account does not require us to delete information that we are legally required to retain, for example certain accounting and transaction records.
21. Payment records
We retain payment and accounting information for as long as required under applicable accounting, tax and other legal requirements. This may continue after you delete your Cindrus account.
Where possible, information retained solely because of a legal obligation is kept separate from active product data and used only for the purposes for which retention is required.
22. Acceptable use
You may use Cindrus for lawful personal purposes. You must not:
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to Cindrus or another user's account;
- interfere with the operation or security of the service;
- introduce malicious software;
- misuse APIs or automated access;
- scrape Cindrus at unreasonable scale;
- use Cindrus to commit fraud or other unlawful activity; or
- copy, resell or commercially exploit the service without permission.
We may take reasonable steps to prevent abuse and protect Cindrus and its users.
23. Intellectual property
Cindrus and its software, brand, design, content and related intellectual property belong to us or our licensors.
Your use gives you a personal right to use Cindrus in accordance with these Terms. It does not transfer ownership of Cindrus software or intellectual property to you. Nothing in this section limits rights that cannot legally be restricted.

24. Availability
We work to keep Cindrus reliable and available. However, no online service can guarantee uninterrupted availability. Cindrus may occasionally be unavailable because of:
- maintenance;
- updates;
- technical failures;
- third-party outages;
- security incidents; or
- circumstances outside our reasonable control.
Where practical, planned maintenance that may significantly affect availability will be communicated in advance.
25. Security
We use technical and organisational measures designed to protect Cindrus and the information entrusted to us. However, no internet-based system can guarantee absolute security.
You are responsible for protecting your own login credentials and devices. Please contact us immediately if you suspect unauthorised access to your account.
26. Our responsibility
Cindrus provides calculations, estimates, monitoring and information based on the data available to us and the information you provide.
To the extent permitted by law, Cindrus is not responsible for losses resulting solely from:
- incorrect or incomplete information provided by you;
- changes in market conditions after a calculation was performed;
- third-party information outside our reasonable control;
- a third party refusing to offer or approve a financial product; or
- financial decisions made independently by you based on estimates or general information.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where doing so would be prohibited under mandatory consumer law. Nothing in these Terms reduces the statutory rights you have as a consumer.
27. Suspending or terminating an account
We may suspend or terminate access where reasonably necessary if:
- you materially breach these Terms;
- the account is used unlawfully or fraudulently;
- there is a significant security risk;
- payment remains outstanding; or
- your use materially interferes with Cindrus or other users.
Where appropriate, we will give you an opportunity to resolve the issue before terminating the account. We may act immediately where necessary to prevent fraud, unlawful activity or a significant security threat.
28. If Cindrus discontinues a service
We may discontinue Cindrus or individual services in the future. Where reasonably possible, we will provide advance notice if this materially affects you.
If we terminate a prepaid paid service before your paid period ends for reasons unrelated to your breach of these Terms, we will provide the remedies required by law and, where appropriate, a proportionate refund for the unused period.
29. Marketing
Cindrus does not send marketing today. Creating a Cindrus account does not mean that you consent to receiving marketing from us. Where consent is required for marketing communications, we will obtain it separately, and you can withdraw it or unsubscribe at any time.
Important service communications relating to your account, security, subscription, payments or Cindrus functionality are not marketing communications and may still be sent where necessary.
30. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms when Cindrus, applicable laws or our business changes. Minor changes that do not materially affect your rights may take effect when published.
If a change materially disadvantages you as a paying user, we will provide reasonable advance notice where required. If you do not wish to continue under materially changed Terms, you may cancel your subscription before the change applies to you, subject to your mandatory consumer rights.
31. Complaints
If something is wrong, we would like the opportunity to fix it. Please contact us first at support@cindrus.com. We will try to resolve your complaint fairly and promptly.
If we cannot resolve the matter together, you may, as a consumer, complain to the Danish Consumer Complaints Board (Forbrugerklagenævnet), Nævnenes Hus, Toldboden 2, 8800 Viborg, Denmark, at naevneneshus.dk, provided the conditions for a complaint are met — including the board's price limits. If you live in another EU country, you can also contact the European Consumer Centre Denmark (Forbruger Europa, forbrugereuropa.dk).
32. Governing law
These Terms are governed by Danish law, without limiting any mandatory consumer protection that applies to you. Disputes may be brought before the competent courts or consumer dispute-resolution bodies in accordance with applicable law.
In plain English
We want Cindrus to be easy to join and easy to leave.
You can cancel anytime, there are no cancellation fees, and we don't use cancellation tricks. If you cancel, we stop the next renewal and you keep the subscription you have already paid for until it expires.
We provide financial calculations, monitoring and information — not guarantees. We explain important assumptions wherever reasonably possible.
Your financial information is not sent to commercial partners simply because you use Cindrus.
And your statutory consumer rights always apply, regardless of what these Terms say.
